Bedlington Terrier

Bedlington Terrier

The Bedlington Terrier was named after the village of their origin, in Northumberland, England. They were originally bred to hunt badgers and otters, but now tend to enjoy life as a household pet. Like most terriers, they need regular exercise and mental stimulation.

I really like these little dogs, their personality reminds me of playful, timid little lambs, and they look a little bit like a lamb too! These would be a great companion for older people as they are a little shy, especially around strangers and sometimes children – if they’re not used to them.

The average lifespan is around 12 years, but they can live for up to 15 years with the right diet, genetics and lifestyle.

They usually grow to about 38-43cm in height and weigh an average of 8-10kgs in peak condition.

Sorry, there are no photos at this stage. If you have a great example of this breed please email me at dr.caroline@hotmail.co.uk and I will put it up on the site!
