Chow Chow Dogs

One of the most interesting things about Chow Dogs is the fact that they have a blue tongue! They are an ancient breed of dog and respond really well to training. They are brilliant guard dogs, but I wouldn’t recommend getting one of these dogs unless you feel confident with your dog training abilities or you can spend lots of time with your puppy when it’s young. They look best after regular grooming and can shed a lot of hair. Pics of Chow Chow Dogs This breed originated in China and have been around since before 150 BC. One of their original roles was as a guard dog for Chinese Emperors. In terms of temperament they are terribly affectionate dogs once they have bonded with you, but can be relatively uninterested in strangers. They are very devoted to their family. The average lifespan is around 9 years, but they can live for up to 11 years with the right diet, genetics and lifestyle. They usually grow to about 45-50 cm in height and weigh between 23 and 32 kgs in peak condition.
