The Italian Greyhound is a lovely little energetic dog. Its fine bone structure makes it look very fragile, but it is in fact a really hardy little dog. It has been popular with the Royals in the past which is its claim to fame. In general it is a clever, low maintenance little dog.

The breed dates back to the times of the Pharaohs and they were also popular in the European Courts for many Centuries. They are a true miniature of the Greyhound which is famous for being the fastest breed of dog on earth.

The average lifespan is around 14 years, but they can live for up to 16 years with the right diet, genetics and lifestyle.

They usually grow to about 35-40 cm in height and weigh between 3 and 4 kgs in peak condition.
