Kelpie

The Kelpie is an Australian working dog bred to suit the harsh conditions of outback Australia. They are one of the main breeds used by Australian sheep farmers today. These dogs can keep running for hours in the hot sun and are quite happy being “outside dogs”. Kelpie Pics They are highly intelligent and obedient dogs, but tend to respond best to one master. If you are thinking about doing agility with your dog, or if you want a pet to exercise with, this is a great choice for you. Working dog breeds need a lot of regular exercise - including off the lead running – but apart from this are really quite low maintenance. The average lifespan is around 13 years, but they can live for up to 16 years with the right diet, genetics and lifestyle. They usually grow to about 40-50 cm in height and weigh between 15 and 20 kgs in peak condition.
